“I feel like pediatrics chose me. I am the oldest of 5 and as a teenager, babysat for half of the children in my town, so I have always been exposed to and enjoyed taking care of children. As far as specifically deciding on health care and pediatrics, this came about when researching for a 7th-grade career day presentation. I chose to shadow a local pediatrician and was hooked from that point on. I love being able to connect with children of all ages to hopefully inspire big dreams and make a difference in my small area of the world.”

Physician Assistant Hoyos will be joining our South Tampa team in November 2023.

She grew up in Upstate NY, specifically the Finger Lakes area located between Syracuse and Rochester. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Roberts Wesleyan College (Syracuse, NY) and a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Le Moyne College (Syracuse, NY).  She has worked in various pediatric care settings since 2012.

Physician Assistant Hoyos has been board-certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants since 2011.  Her first job was in the NICU, so she has a soft spot for infant care and is also interested in helping breastfeeding moms.

Physician Assistant Hoyos grew up with a large immediate family and they are all still very close.  She enjoys spending family time when they can,  but they are scattered across 3 different states. Her Florida family consists of her husband and son. They can often be found enjoying their memberships to the zoo or Disney and traveling to wherever they can go! She is also a member of the newly formed South Tampa Community Garden and can sometimes be found learning to keep things besides children alive (children just might be easier)!
