Expecting and Pregnant Mothers

Congratulations on your growing family!

Choosing a pediatrician is one of the most important decisions you make for your new baby. At Pediatric Health Care Alliance, we want to grow with your family by providing the highest quality health care through every stage of your child's life - from the first weeks with your newborn, all the way through your child's transition from adolescence to adulthood. New patients are welcome at all locations and there is no advance registration required.

Your Baby's First Checkup
Your baby will have their first checkup in the hospital, and it is important to know that your pediatrician does not have to be on staff at the hospital where you deliver. In Tampa Bay we are fortunate to have many excellent hospitals; however, a single pediatrician’s office or group may not be able to visit all the hospitals in our area.

  • If your pediatrician's group is on staff where you deliver, the hospital will make sure the visiting pediatrician from your pediatrician’s group is assigned for your baby’s exam.
  • If your pediatrician's group is not on staff, the in-hospital exam will be done by another staff pediatrician from the hospital.
  • After leaving the hospital, you can schedule your baby’s office visits with any pediatrician you choose.

You are also welcome to call an office for questions about newborn care, office visits, insurance, or other needs surrounding your baby's care.
