Dear Parents,

As we continue to monitor the cases of measles outbreaks in our area and nationwide, we want to make you aware of the recommendations for when early vaccination against measles is warranted.

Infants 6 to 11 months of age who live in an area of outbreak, are travelling to an area of outbreak, or are travelling internationally should receive the MMR vaccine, preferably at least 2 weeks prior to travel.

Infants less than 6 months of age cannot receive the measles vaccine. Children 12 months and older who have received 2 doses of MMR after 12 months of age do not need additional doses during an outbreak.

If you are unsure of your child's MMR vaccine status, please contact our office for guidance.
