As a new parent, you have a lot on your mind right now, but there is one important step you should take as soon as possible:
PHCA would like to remind you add your child to your insurance policy.
To add your child to your insurance policy, call the member services phone number located on your insurance card.
What you need to know:
- Insurance companies require that your newborn be added to your policy in order to process medical claims.
- A delay in updating your policy could result in denied claims, which then become your responsibility to pay.
- You may also need to select your child's pirmary care provider, depending on your insurance plan requirements.
- If your insurance is through an employer, you may need to inform both the insurance company and your employer.
