Please see below for a personal message from Dr. Baade on the occasion of her retirement. All of us at Pediatric Health Care Alliance appreciate the opportunity to care for your children, and we hope you will consult with Dr. Baade's partners at the Suncoast Office. You may be familiar with Dr. Tan and NP Laura Edge, and we have recently welcomed Dr. Alicia Drees to the PHCA family at Suncoast. Please join us in wishing Dr. Baade the very best in retirement.

Dear patients, parents, and families,

It has been my great privilege and joy to be given the opportunity to share in the healthcare of the children and adolescents within your families over the past 33 years. I am planning to retire on September 29th, 2021. Even as I will miss so many of you and your families, of which you have made me feel a part, I have been desiring to spend more time with my family and perhaps give back to the community that has given me so much over the past 40 years since I moved here to attend medical school.

You have inspired me in so many ways with your patience, advocacy and selfless devotion as parents, as well as the wonderful resilience, drive, and honesty of our youth. I hope to remember this always as I engage with my grown children and grandchildren.

I am thankful for the smiles of the children every day and for the way they make me laugh each day. The joy and enthusiasm for life they exude is like no other!

I am especially thankful for my second-generation patients who have a special place in my heart, and for you, as their parents, who entrust me with the care of your most treasured gift, just as your parents did before you.

The care of my patients will go uninterrupted as Dr. Alicia Drees has joined Dr. Tan and NP Laura Edge at our Suncoast location of PHCA. Like me, Dr. Drees is also a graduate of the University of South Florida pediatric residency program. I plan to meet with Dr. Drees prior to my retirement, to review my patients with more complex medical needs, and Dr. Tan or I will be available to answer any questions she might have, even after my retirement. I feel confident that the quality of your child’s care will remain at its best.

I wish you all the very best in the years ahead, both in life and in health. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

Melody Baade, MD
