“As a medical student, the pediatricians I studied with seemed so happy doing their day-to-day work and I realized that this was how I wanted to practice medicine. I have never regretted this decision."
- Dr. Kulek-Luzey
Dr. Kulek-Luzey joined PHCA as a founding member in 1997. She was previously with Tampa Bay Pediatrics, which was one of six long-standing local pediatric groups that joined together to form PHCA.
In 2007 Dr. Kulek-Luzey was named Medical Director for PHCA. With her interest in preventative care and the use of patient data to drive better health care to patients overall, she coordinates with other PHCA physicians to build a better electronic medical record system and to use our electronic data to better understand our patient care processes and practice.
Dr Kulek-Luzey fell in love with pediatrics while working as a medical student with local pediatricians:
“These physicians seemed so happy doing their day to day work and I realized that this was how I wanted to practice medicine. I have never regretted this decision.
She is married and has two sons. Her hobbies include vegetarian cooking, tennis, biking, and SCUBA. She also speaks French and enjoys traveling with her family.
Dr. Kulek-Luzey has been continually selected by her peers for inclusion in the biennial Best Doctors in America® list. Physicians are chosen through an exhaustive peer-review survey that asks: "If you or a loved one needed a doctor in your specialty, to whom would you refer them?" Only physicians who earned the consensus support of their peers were included.
